WhatsApp setup, step by step

One-time signup so OnHand gets its own WhatsApp line. Work top to bottom; each step is a few minutes. No waiting periods, no approvals. Checkmarks save as you go.

Before you start: you'll log in with your personal Facebook account (that's just how Meta works — business stuff stays separate from your profile). The WhatsApp number itself is a new dedicated number from your Twilio account — set that up first (it's step 3 on your to-do list); David buys the number from it and texts it to you before step 5 below. Your own WhatsApp keeps working exactly as it is — you'll simply message the new OnHand number from your phone.

1 · Create the business account.Go to business.facebook.com → log in with Facebook → Create account → business name: Zapro LLC (spelled exactly like your legal paperwork) → your name → a business email.

2 · Become a "developer" (it's one click, not a career).Go to developers.facebook.com → Get Started → same Facebook login → confirm email/phone.

3 · Create the app.developers.facebook.com/apps → Create App → use case: Other → type: Business → name: Zapro OnHand → connect it to Zapro LLC.

4 · Add WhatsApp.In the app dashboard → Add product → WhatsApp → Set up → choose Zapro LLC → accept the terms.

5 · Register the number — 📞 call David first.WhatsApp → API Setup → Add phone number → display name Zapro → enter the number David gave you → choose SMS verification → David reads you the 6-digit code the moment it arrives → type it in.

6 · Add a credit card.business.facebook.com/wa/manage → your Zapro account → Payment settings → add a card. Day-to-day use is free; this covers the alert messages — pennies.

7a · Add David to the app.App dashboard → App Roles → Roles → Add People → Administrator → David's Facebook email.

7b · Create the permanent key.business.facebook.com/settings → Users → System users → Add → name onhand-backend, role Admin → Add assets: the Zapro OnHand app (full control) and the WhatsApp account → Generate token → expiration Never → check exactly: whatsapp_business_messaging + whatsapp_business_management → Generate → copy it now — it shows only once.

8 · Send David five things — securely.① the token from 7b · ② App ID (Settings → Basic) · ③ App Secret (same page → Show) · ④ WhatsApp Business Account ID (API Setup) · ⑤ Phone number ID (same page). Password-manager share or in person — not regular email.

Later, no rush

Business verification — makes "Zapro" show as your name instead of the number, and raises limits. Security Center → Start Verification, with your LLC formation papers and a utility bill/bank statement in the LLC's name. The name and address must be typed character-for-character as on the formation certificate. We'll tell you when it's worth doing.

That's the whole thing. From here David's side takes over — webhooks, going live, testing — and you just start talking to your new number.
